DIY PILLOWS

TRANSFORM YOUR OLD PILLOWS OR DIY FROM SCRATCH


Materials 


-  stuffing or old pillows

-  Fabric
-  Soft bulky yarn
-  Crochet needle
-  Sewing needle 
-  Thread
-  Measuring tape
-  Scissors 


Abreviations:
Ch:  chain
Dc:  Double crochet
Dc tog:  double crochet together
Hdc: half double crochet
Hdc tog: half double crochet together
Sc:  simple crochet
Sl st:  slip stitch

(#):  numbers of time that the stitch is repeated

Instructions


For the biggest pillows (2 pillows):


Measure the pillows and add 2cm for the sewing edge 

Cut
Sew 
Turn sewed fabric piece around 
Fill and sew the last edge from outside.
Take three pieces of yarn twice as long as the pillow perimeter.
Knot, twist and sew all around the edge of the pillow.

Crochet Chart


Rnd 1: ch6 and close with sl. St.


Rnd 2: Ch 3 and 23 dc, close with sl st. 


Rnd 3: Ch 5, dc in the same space to form a V stitch, ch2 

Skip 2 spaces.  3-2-3dc shell in the third space, also known as fan stitch, ch2 and repeat process until the end of the rnd and close with sl. St. 

From now on increase 1 fan stitch per rnd on every side of the square 





Rnd 4: Ch 5, dc in the same space to form a V stitch, ch2 
Skip 2 spaces.  3-2-3dc shell (1) in the third space, also known as fan stitch, 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (2) , ch2 and repeat process until the end of the rnd and close with sl. St. 

Rnd 5: Ch 5, dc in the same space to form a V stitch, ch2 

Skip 2 spaces.  3-2-3dc shell (1) in the third space, also known as fan stitch, 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (2) , 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (3), ch2 and repeat process until the end of the rnd and close with sl. St.

Rnd 6: Ch 5, dc in the same space to form a V stitch, ch2 

Skip 2 spaces.  3-2-3dc shell (1) in the third space, also known as fan stitch, 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (2) , 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (3), 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (4), ch2 and repeat process until the end of the rnd and close with sl. St.

Rnd 7: Ch 5, dc in the same space to form a V stitch, ch2 

Skip 2 spaces.  3-2-3dc shell (1) in the third space, also known as fan stitch, 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (2) , 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (3), 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (4), 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (5), ch2 and repeat process until the end of the rnd and close with sl. St.

Rnd 8: Ch 5, dc in the same space to form a V stitch, ch2 

Skip 2 spaces.  3-2-3dc shell (1) in the third space, also known as fan stitch, 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (2) , 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (3), 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (4), 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (5), 3-2-3dc shell in the next space (6), ch2 and repeat process until the end of the rnd and close with sl. St.


Sew the crocheted piece in between the two pieces of cushion fabric. Sew three edges leaving one open to insert the filling. Flip the stitched piece of fabric, fill and sew the last edge by folding them inwards and sewing them from the outside.

Done.
